How is that for some alliteration?! Just like everyone else, I get some crazy cravings. Sometimes these cravings are out of control. Pretty much, all at the same time, I wanted bang bang shrimp that was beer battered. I didn't want to fry anything because, let's be honest, that can be a serious pain (the oil...the heating of the oil...the cleaning of the oil...etc). This recipe was a real winner. We ended up making a taco out of them, but they can be eaten any which way. They are incredibly easy ...

As January comes to an end, I'm pretty sure that all we are thinking about around here is football and the Superbowl. I've been on a kind of football food craze here lately, and today was no different. I tried to keep it light and fresh today when I was playing around with some recipes, and these baked pretzel-crusted chicken tenders made it to the top of the list. They were super delicious and super fun. They were super fun because anything you get to eat with your fingers is fun in my book! Th ...

This may come as a surprise to you (or not so much a surprise), but I am not very successful when it comes to making brownies. You have no idea how many times I have attempted to make a solid batch of brownies in the past week. They either puffed up too much, or deflated too low. It took a lot of trial and error to get them just right. In this case, I really think the elevation came in to effect. I found that I absolutely CAN NOT use baking powder in brownies. It was a disaster. I may have cried ...

You can't have the Superbowl with wings, and you can't have wings without the Superbowl. Well, actually that's not quite true. You can have wings all year round, and it would be totally ok. Let's just say that wings are 100% necessary on game day. They are the perfect indulgence. Wings are great because you can feed a lot of people for a little amount of money and effort. Instead of making the traditional buffalo wing this past weekend (the one with the Frank's Red Hot and butter ... which is al ...

Need a quick and easy game day appetizer for the Superbowl? Well, I've got you 100% covered with this roasted garlic white pizza dip. It's literally spoonable pizza, and I don't know if there is anything out there that sounds better. Zach and I love pizza, especially on game day. It's so easy (to make and to order). The two just seem to go together. What I love about this recipe, is how many flavors you can develop with such little effort and time. What's even better, is that you can make it all ...

It took me a very long time to get myself to even attempt to eat salmon. I have never really been a fan, until this burger came along. Zach swore that I would like it if it was prepared in a way I would enjoy. This burger totally proved that theory. I think my hate for salmon started a long time ago when the first time I tried it, it was the super fishy, farm-raised, pink-injected stuff. It scarred me for life. I have always loved basically every other kind of fish (even the crazy stuff that mos ...

When I tell you that loose granola and granola bars are two of the easiest thing you will make, I am totally not bluffing. There are seriously no excuses. There is no need to go buy the prepackaged stuff. These granola bars taste better and are so much better for you! Oh and what's even better, is that they are no-bake. I love no-bake recipes. They seriously makes my world go round. These Biscoff Granola Bars were a huge hit around here. They combine some of our favorite flavors: cookie spread, ...

Something I find extremely difficult to do is to make sure I get enough calories in me when I'm running a lot. I made it a personal goal this year to make sure that I run as much as possible. I seriously was a humongous slacker last year, and I won't let it happen again gosh darn-it! Smoothies are huge for me when I'm running a lot, and I always try to have a large one after I've finished exercising. A great ingredient to add into smoothies is cooked oatmeal. Oatmeal is full of nutrients and per ...

When I make minestrone, I like to literally throw everything I have on hand into the pot. I don't care what it is, I usually just throw it in anyway. This recipe makes a great use out of those leftovers. Minestrone is basically the Italian version of vegetable soup. Traditionally, you would not throw meat into the mix, but I like to add ham for added flavor. Feel free to skip this step (as well as the substitution of vegetable broth to make a vegetarian version). It's really great either way. Th ...

As promised, here is my first healthy recipe of the New Year. I told you it was going to happen! Shame on you for doubting ;). Just kidding. So anyway, I made these Thai-style turkey meatballs last week, and they were a huge hit among Zach and my dad. They were gone so quickly! There are many great things about this recipe. First of all, it's extremely quick and easy. These meatballs can be on the table in less than an hour. It's the perfect weeknight meal. Serve it with some greens, rice or qui ...
