I hope everyone had a FABULOUS weekend. It was gorgeous here in Colorado. It was sunny and in the 70s. The peaks were covered in snow, and it was one of the best views of the Front Range I've seen in quite a while. I pretty much spent my Sunday packing some things up around the house. We are getting closer and closer to the big move! Eek! So exciting! So anyway, let's talk food, shall we? I know I have talked endlessly of this, but I get so much satisfaction when I can eat something lemony! Unfo ...

I'm a HUGE sucker for a good homemade pretzel. I love them. There are a couple of breweries in the area that serve them right along side their special brews, and this has to be one of my favorite combos in the world! Nothing beats a warm, soft pretzel straight out of the oven. I've made pretzels before, quite a few times actually, but never have I made a traditional pretzel. I've always taken the easy way out and made them into bites. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, and if you've never made ...

As Zach and I prepare to move, I keep coming to the realization that I have an insane amount of work to do. If there is one thing I hate in this world (besides my piece of crap electric stove), it's packing and moving...oh and unpacking. I hate that too. Since we are about a month away from the big day, I thought I'd get a head start on things. I'm actually making pretty good progress (which is awesome), but then I got to the kitchen; and I seriously wanted to cry. I've made it my personal goal ...

Maybe it's the cool temperatures that have me craving so many sweets lately. I can't keep my hands off of them! Although, I should mention that it is quite beautiful here today in Colorado: 65 degrees and sunny. Just so you know, I made this over the weekend, when it was 10 degrees. I know, I know. We have crazy temperature swings around here. I'll stop bragging though. I know many of you in the East aren't having the weather we are here. I'm here to help though, by forcing you to bake cookies! ...

Happy March everyone! We are one step closer to Spring. I bet that excites just about everyone (at least everyone that I know). Hey, did you guys know that March 14th is Pi Day?! Welp, it is. My good friends over at Foodie.com and I would like to celebrate with you! There's not much else out there that is more comforting than pie. Savory pies, sweet pies, hand pies, cookie pies: the sky is the limit on how creative you can get with pies. This makes them the perfect platform for just about any fl ...

Here is another instance where I decided to cook with beer. I know! That's twice in one week! I don't know what to make of this, but let's just go with it. This won't become a common occurrence by any means, but it's fun to go crazy once in a while. So anyway, as I dive into this new thing called "cooking with beer," I thought that biscuits would be an easy way to not screw up. Boy, did I not screw up. It's fun when things go the way that you plan. These biscuits are a play off of my Rosemary an ...

I have a small confession to make, I don't LOVE kale. Sure, I'll eat it, and I do often cook with it; but all by itself, I could live without. I do enjoy it in the occasional smoothie, when it's pulverized. I also enjoy it in these egg muffins. Kale adds that freshness you really desire in this quick breakfast snack. When I first made "egg muffins," I was skeptical. I was sworn that they reheated extremely well, and tasted just about the same as when they were fresh out of the oven. Again, I was ...

I'm a sucker for hot chocolate. I'm especially a sucker for hot chocolate when it involves beer, spice and tons and tons of chocolate. Like, TONS of chocolate. I don't cook with beer very often...hardly ever, actually. It makes me nervous, to be honest. I love the flavor of beer (obviously), and I love just about any type of food you could put in front of me. When you mix the two together, it can either be delicious or a complete disaster. This is just one of the reasons I don't cook with it ver ...

I have just four little words for you today: Thank God It's Friday. I have never been more excited for the weekend to be here. It's not that I have any special plans. Actually, I have no plans. I just want to stay out of the kitchen and relax. With our move just about a month away, the house is a disaster...the kitchen is even worse. I don't know about you guys, but I hate working in a messy space. Therefore, my cooking and baking adventures have been kind of stressful lately. Let's just say, I ...

BLTs are one of my favorite comfort foods of all time. What makes them so different from other comfort foods is that they can be whipped up in no time. This, I love. This is my fun spin on a traditional BLT. I am OBSESSED with burrata lately. When it comes to cheese, it's all I can think about; and now that we have a Trader Joes (FINALLY!) in the area, I've been able to stock up on burrata for a fraction of the price at other large grocers. For those of you who may have never heard of it, Burrat ...
