Now that Easter is over, all I want is picnic food. Honestly though, I crave picnic time all times of year, but it's starting to get a little bit out of control. In the end, I just really feel bad for Zach, who will probably have to eat cold pasta and potato salads, hot dogs and hamburgers for the next month. ;) It's ok though. At least he doesn't have to cook dinner! Last night I made Tex Mex Hot Dogs. They were a total win. Hot dogs may just be my favorite part of summer. Even though, they are ...

Is it Friday yet? Ugh, what a week it has been, and it's only Monday! I don't think anyone ever prepared me for what it took to clean a larger house. You grow up wanting the biggest, baddest house, but your parents fail to tell you that you will actually have to clean it! Or maybe they do tell you, and you decided to ignore it. Either way, it sucks. In all honesty though, the pros totally outweigh the cons. I'm just really ready for a nap. ;) So anyway, let's talk cider ... delicious, spectacula ...

I hope everyone is have a fantastic start to their weekends! I know we sure are around here. Although a bit cloudy today, we have had some spectacular weather. Temps have been in the mid 70s, and I can't think of a better way to celebrate the holiday weekend. Things are finally starting to come together in our new house. We still have a TON of unpacking to do, and I feel like I just putting it all off! I think the main reason for this procrastination, is that I want all new stuff and don't want ...

Let's be honest with ourselves, grits have to be one of the most amazing dishes on the planet. I love them all ways, especially when they are mixed with a ton of cheese! This particular recipe just happens to be vegetarian (I know ... it doesn't happen very often) and packed with goat cheese and garlicky goodness. I'm all about the alliteration today. Can you tell? Grits are easy and quick. They are the perfect meal when you are on a budget, and they are even more perfect when they are topped wi ...

If you're all about quick and easy, this chocolate raspberry cheesecake dip is for you. You will not find a simpler recipe out there. I promise you this! It is no bake ... win. It is chocolatey ... win. It combines dessert with your favorite flavors of Spring (in this case - Raspberry) ... win. Are you getting the picture? Talk about some major packing fuel. These cookies kept me sane while I was packing up our disaster of a townhouse. They've been gone for a while now, but I can still taste the sultry caramel, saltiness. I love sweets with a touch of salty. Sea salt and caramel are one of my favorite combinations, and I knew that I had to throw them into a cookie. The chocolate chip cookie dough base is a pretty standard cookie dough, but this time I stuffed it with a caramel square and sprinkled the cookies with ...

Boy, has it been a crazy week. It's a good thing I planned these posts out ahead a time, or you'd all be lacking in food and beer pairings! I know, right! It is a scary, scary thought. I don't even want to think about it. We are pretty much moved in. No, we have done absolutely no unpacking, but we did buy a sofa that isn't covered in Cilantro hair! This is a major win in my book. Baby steps...baby steps. I made the granola right before we moved, in hopes that it would be a good snack while we w ...

I really crave salads as warmer months approach, and I was really craving a chopped chicken cobb salad. I love a cobb salad, mostly for the hard-boiled eggs, but also for all the ways you can get creative with it. I like to add absolutely everything, but the kitchen sink in my cobb salads. This was the perfect meal to get Zach and I through a week of packing. It's been an insanely busy and tiring week. Luckily, it's almost over. We are officially moved out of our townhouse. This was bittersweet, ...

I don't know why I have been so obsessed with sweets lately. You'd think that as it becomes warmer out, I'd crave something lighter. Nope, I want the heaviest muffin on the planet. These muffins...are the heaviest muffins on the planet. This isn't necessarily a bad thing. THEY ARE SO GOOD. I really love them for Sunday prep. They hold up really well over the week and are the perfect breakfast on-the-go. I also love them for Easter brunch. Because they hold up so well, I think they are a great mu ...

Over the next couple of weeks, I'm going to start focusing on more Spring-inspired recipes. Easter is creeping up on us faster than you may think, and Easter brunch is one of my favorite meals of the year. I actually prefer Easter brunch over Easter dinner, but this may just be because of my obsessiveness with breakfast and dinner food intermingling. It's an issue, and I'm dealing with. I've forced Zach to have breakfast for dinner already twice this week. He's not complaining though. He doesn't ...
