Paired with a Farmhouse Ale/Saison
I’m not sure about you guys, but it has been quite the busy winter. I can’t believe that spring is almost here. Time is just flying! This is why I’m super thankful for super simple recipes like these grown-up tuna salad sandwiches. Lunch has become an escape for me, especially since I have been so busy, and I look forward to it every day. I’m always looking for ways to keep lunch exciting, and what I crave the most usually involves a sandwich of some kind.
I’m always trying to elevate sandwiches. They can quickly get super boring, but it doesn’t have to be that way. Growing up, I loved tuna salad. It’s just one of those recipes that takes me straight back to my childhood, but let’s be honest, tuna salad can get boring if you don’t brighten it up with other ingredients. This is why I am absolutely obsessed with these grown-up tuna salad sandwiches.
It all starts and ends with Cobblestone Bread Co. Million Dollar White Bread. This bread you guys…this bread is the perfect platform for this tuna salad. It is super soft, but not so soft that it falls apart when you layer on the ingredients. It really holds up well. It has a slight sweetness that really complements the extreme savoriness of the rest of the ingredients. It is also soooo good when you toast it. For this particular recipe, I didn’t toast it because I was preparing them for weekday lunches. If you are eating it right away, toasting it will really add some great texture!
These sandwiches are totally brag-worthy. Your coworkers will beg you to bring them a sandwich of their own!
Beer While I certainly don’t think it’s the best of ideas to drink beer at 12 in the afternoon, I do think that these sandwiches will pair really well with a farmhouse ale at dinner time. That’s right. These sandwiches are just as good for dinner. This is the time of year when farmhouse ales start to show up in most beer shops. They are light, but still so full of flavor and really complement fresh vegetables nicely. If you are enjoying one of these bundles of deliciousness for dinner, pair it with a farmhouse ale. It’s a match made in heaven!
