Beer Pairings and Sunday Dinner

Just like these recipes, I find that these beers are perfect Spring drinking beers. Give them a try and let me know what you think!

Salmon Burgers and Cilantro Mayo:
Beer: Ninkasi Brewing’s Tricerahops Double IPA
Brewed By: Ninkasi Brewing Company
Style: Double IPA
ABV: 8.0%
IBU: 100
Description: I think hoppy brews go great with fish, especially salmon. Tricerahops is perfect for the job. It is florally in both aroma and taste. It’s the perfect pairing. With this burger’s bold and spicy flavors, this full-bodied, Double IPA compliments each and every bite

Honey and Sriracha-Glazed Chicken Thighs:
Beer: Aspen Brewing Company’s Independence Pass Ale
Brewed By: Aspen Brewing Company
Style: American IPA
ABV: 7.0%
IBU: 62
Description: First things first, I seriously had to think about why I have never had a beer from Aspen Brewing Company after I have lived in Colorado now for over two years. I know. I should be ashamed of myself. Their beer is spectacular, and their IPA, Independence Pass Ale, is no different. This is a truly solid IPA, robust in citrus and floral notes. I love it for all of these reasons. I especially love it with this honey and sriracha chicken. IPAs go very well with spicy foods, and its bitterness really tones down the level of sweetness you get from the honey. It’s a great pairing and a great brew all together.

Chicken and Lemon Orzo Soup:
Beer: Elysian Brewing Company’s Loser Pale Ale
Brewed By: Elysian Brewing Company
Style: American Pale Ale
ABV: 7%
IBU: 57
Description: The day I found out that Elysian would make Loser Pale Ale available all-year round was a very happy one. It’s one of the best pale ales out there, with the crispness you crave you with a pale ale. It has a wonderful citrus quality and is perfectly light and refreshing. It also has a nice malty finish, which I just love with a good pale ale. I wanted something refreshing, yet robust with flavor for this soup. Anything “crazier” would take away from the flavors in the soup. It’s a great beer and a superb pairing for this chicken and lemon orzo soup!

There ya go guys! I hope this gives you some inspiration for the upcoming Spring months! These recipes are also great for Easter Dinner/Brunch!

Have a great week!

xoxo (always and forever),
Justine

  1. What a fun roundup, Justine! And no, I can’t believe April is already here… the weather up here still seems to be a bit confused, ha! I can’t wait to hear more about your big move – how exciting. Until we get to hear more, I will occupy myself by looking through your fabulous spring-inspired collection! Makes me hungry again and I just ate :)

    1. Thank you so much, Kathi! We have been lucky enough to be blessed with some beautiful weather here lately. Although, we are supposed to get 6 inches of snow tonight! Not looking forward to that one! This round up is totally making me hungry too! Thanks again dear!
